a good day yesterday, and quite a pleasant day today, as well, though i worried i was boring emily for a large portion of it. :) but i had fun, and we made eggrolls and it was nice. and last night... i love you people. even if i was a little out of it, i had lots of fun. watching movies, lighting candles, playing ten fingers even if i am targeted :), talking and laughing and singing and sprawling in people's laps, on people's legs, everything. it was nice. i have so many holes in my leg. i have bites and scratches and itches and things that are just bleeding and i don't like it. it does not make me happy. but it is okay. because other things make me happy. you know, marwane was right. i didn't have to worry about the ride, and things work out. i still want to know what he said in that phone call, though. hey, marwane, if you still read this, what did you tell mara on the phone while we were at magic mountain? i can probably guess, from the conversation and what she said, but still i'm curious. oh, well. i'm tired tired tired, i'm going to sleep sleep sleep!!!
yay! my beloved blogger is back. i am happy. in fact, i'm just happy in general. but who wouldn't be, in my situation? I just had one of the greatest days, though I am so sad I couldnt stay later. But anyway, my day began with a trip to Magic Mountain. A day like that, as Im sure you know, can never be bad. Add to that the company I was with. Anthony, Mara, and Adam, the love of her life, who I finally got to meet. Afterwards, I went to the greatest dinner thing. So many wonderful people, I could barely stand it but yeah. everyone, take a little of my happiness, and be happy, too. Tuesday, December 25, 2001
yes, joanna, i was jewish, and in fact still am, but my dad's fiance is christian, and so we had a traditional Mexican Christmas, complete with so many tamales i could explode, and tons of presents and family and decorations and great things in the past few days. the DVD of Moulin Rouge is great. it has extended footage of some of the dances, and multiple camera angles in which you can choose the angles, and all these special features, like interviews and such, and of course the movie itself, and such wonderful facets of DVDs as Chapter Selection. yum. anyway, today was great, but exhausting, and i think i'm going to head off to sleep now. though i do need to figure myself out, i think. yes yes. lots to do.
my password got changed. how odd. Merry Christmas, all. So far, i've had a rather pleasant holiday. I got my own DVD player, and Moulin Rouge! which comes with some fabulous stuff, and you should all come over some time and watch! we saw Amelie today. which is a really, really good movie. like, really good. it's pretty, and smart, and cool, and very cute. anyway, gotta go help with greenbeans. sorry if that was hard to follow. but it's our story! and now, Batteries Not Included is on. a movie i haven't seen in years. how weird. it's cute, though. hmm. it's almost Christmas. :) Merry Christmas, to all my friends who celebrate it. peace, love, and Gingerbread happiness, eh friends?
Once upon a time there was a girl. She was a beautiful and a wonderful person. her name was esther, and she was an elf! her name wasn't really esther, but everyone called her that, who knows why and she was a hobbit-elf too. Esther the Hobbit-elf lived in a beautiful forest, with various magical creatures. there were fairies and unicorns and dragons and hermits and wizards and lots of other stuff one day, a great wizard came up to esther with a quest for her to undertake. but esther was really scared because she was real comfortable in her little own world so the wizard, Bobo, granted her a friend, or more to take along with her she chose two elves, adrianna and Rayje, a young Dwarf named Admael, a hobbit named Tobias (toby) and a half-man-half-elf named Kaos, to undertake the wizard's task. they were destined to remove the apple from adam and there was only way one way they could get to his land, Shmalethroatopia The only way there was through the Halls of Thornia, a long castle-like mountain full of peril. they were each give a weapon Adrianna and Rayje got matching Elven blades shaped like leaves, with points as sharp as the teeth of wolves Admael was given a thornmower but it was really light and small so he could minimize it and carry it around Toby was a stout hobbit, used to gardening and manual work, so he got a thick double sided axe, and Kaos was granted a mystical pin in the shape of a spider. Esther got a bracelet that gave her special powers: the ability to stop time, to mutate into different forms, and the power to heal and so the group set off from their forest home, taking the path towards the Halls of Thornia to take Adam's Apple (hehe) when they stepped onto the path of Mankind they were attacked by a group of BIG BUTTS The creatures of the group brandished their weapons, and as Kaos put his hand on his pin, 8 legs spurt from his body, and he suddenly realized he could spin a long silken web. so without the help of others Kaos spun a web around the big butts until they beacme a wad of spun weblint. Being a peaceful group and not wanting to kill anyone, the group left the webbed big butts lying on the path of mankind, and continued on. they were jollylaging along when suddenly Toby felt a desperate urge to yodel on top of a waterfall so the group had to search far and wide, until they found the Falls of Wysteria, a mystical waterfall that dripped golden and silver water. so the others laid back and watched while toby filled his need by screaming on the top of his lungs " yoooo doooooleeeeeheeeehooooooo ... do you uhh yahoo?" and kept repeating it until Rayje the bossy but wise one of the group had to pull him away because the mountain of AOLia was just below the scrumptous waterfall The Evil Lord Kruslayne lived in the Mountains of AOLia, and he knew of the quest, and craved the Apple for himself. and the only reason his mountain was below the Falls of Wysteria was because the water turned, with the addition of his special mixture, moss into Big Butts. The group climbed down from the waterfall, and continued down their path, not knowing the dangers that were following them on the road. they stopped because toby really was thirsty from all that yodeling and where did they stop? what a surprise at the FALLS OF WYSTERIA! Toby cupped a handful of the stream, and drank a golden thread of liquid, which immediately made him feel stronger and tireless. it was then that they realizeed that this special water which could somehow turn into big butts could also be the secret weapon in how to get the apple because apples only come out with the help of a liquid which is strong enough to do some damage on the raw skin of the apple but only so much that it does not hurt adam knowing it could be used for evil as well, the group decided to only take one flask of the liquid, except for esther, who secretly filled the invisible casket that her faerie friends had given her with a pint of the silver stream. but esther being stupid as she was forgot how much a pint was and took a gallon instead the group continued walking, and soon (after a few small battles with Big Butts, orcs, wolves, and other forest creatures) got to the Gate of the Halls of Thornia. and they all yelled in unison "WOOHOO!!!" and hugged each other. And so ends the first part.
oh, dude. i'm having so much fun with this shoe-bomber suspect. It's so easy to make jokes about it, the smallest mention of him just makes me laugh. I mean, just think about it... *giggling*
Origens of Jingle Bells it wasn't a Christmas song. It was about having the hottest vehicle and picking up chicks. :) well, sort of.
i just went to a lovely Christmas Eve party at Emilia's brother/dad's house (she calls him Dad, but he's really her oldest brother). there were all these adorable kids, and great Mexican food, and really fun adults. and there was karaoke, and they even convinced me to sing, with Vanessa. it was so much fun, and a great atmosphere. and we're gonna have lots of people here tomorrow, for christmas day, for opening presents and then a nice lunch or dinner or something. Emilia's four kids, five if you count Billy, and Angel's wife Natalie, and me and Jesse and Dad and Emilia. and maybe others, like her siblings, the ones who don't have to go to work. Three of her nephews(i think they're her nephews, or cousins or smoething) are cops, so they don't always get Christmas off. (she had a fourth, but he died in the line of duty. what a new world, and culture, and family, and things, eh?) Now It's a Wonderful Life is on TV, of course, and I'm watching that. Such a sad movie, for all of it until the last few seconds, you know? i mean, really, it's awful. oh, well. I sometimes wish our city was as great as New York. Mayor Giulliani (sp?) is so amazing, and everyone loves him so much. And yeah. It's just a great city. But then again, I fucking love LA. So maybe I just want to live in New York for a bit. I used to dream of going to college there, and maybe I will, for undergrad, but for graduate school, I've recently been thinking of LAMDA. how amazing would that be? so far away, but everyone's going to split up anyway, and it'd be so amazing. so yeah. that was many many random thoughts, but that's ok.
so yeah. I'm at my dad's. we have a tree. which is cool. but this probably means i won't see any of you guys until after break, because the week i'm supposed to go back to my mom's, i'm going to sacramento for a while, because it's my Grandma's 80th birthday. 80. spooky, huh? she doesn't seem eighty. she's still so... there. i can't really explain. but yeah. so i'm here. i feel like i won't see many friends soon, but on thursday i'm going out with a group i haven't seen in a while, which should be cool. ok, gotta hook up my new printer now!!
i just watched this really cool movie (well, most of it, i tuned in late) called Bootmen. It's about these former steelworkers who form a tapdancing troupe. The dancing is incredible, like Stomp stuff but different. Very cool, anyway. And I was watching, and trying to figure out who the main boy was, and I figured it out. It's Adam Garcia, the sexy Australian boy from Coyote Ugly. It's all Australian, actually, which means a bunch of really hunky construction type guys with sexy as hell accents. So yeah. ok, i need to make mom this damn CD. i don't have everything i want, but i'm way late on the holiday thing, and she'll hopefully like it, whatever i put on it. i just hope i have time.
mine didn't seem as accurate to me as everyone else's, but they barely ever do. the life of a skeptic, i suppose. but here they are, in all their glory. (parts i agree with are in italics) Your Existing Situation Your Stress Sources Your Restrained Characteristics Your Desired Objective Your Actual Problem Your Actual Problem #2
the song itself is just so great. it's so perfect for that whole atmosphere. they have great music. like Try a Little Tenderness. i'd give almost anything to see them again, see the whole thing again.
i'm downloading Barry White's I'm Qualified to Satisfy You, and remembering the disco lights, and Isaac walking out, the so very tall and deep-voiced black man, who walked up to Daniel and in his oh-so-sexy-because-i'm-Barry-White voice teaching him how to say, "don't take off your panties, let me do it for you." God, that was great. what a great script, and story, and everything.
i'm restless. or bored. but not really. because i have my book, and i can read that until my eyes hurt. i pretty much have been, really. but even under the covers, that's cold, and my house is cold, and when my eyes finally do hurt bad enough, there isn't anything to do. oh, well. for now, i can hang out with Peachy and the Elves and hobbits and dwarves and Men of Middle Earth...
thank you, friend, whoever you are. i am indeed feeling much better, for the time being. on another note, i had a good day today. i went out once or twice, for lunch and to get together with someone, but overall, for most of my saturday, i lay in my bed and read the second in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Two Towers. i just sat against the headboard, under the covers, and read, straight through, the adventures of Middle Earth. a few people wondered that i didn't go out, that i spent my saturday night at home, reading. but you know what? i liked it. for most vacations since the... summer of my discontent, i've always tried to make sure i always have things to do, so i'm not bored. but recently i've realized that being alone doesn't mean i'm bored. if no one's available and no one's onlne, i'm not going to lapse into depression. i can read, i can write, i can do stuff. and these books are damn good. if i don't pass out and fall asleep in the next few seconds, i'm going to start on the third... Thank you, Blogger.
